Climate
The climate
is subtropic (beside the tropic- and the temperate zone). The lowest
day temperature is in January (12°) and the highest in August (26°).
Tips; The weathet change quickly from sunshine to rain.
On one day you can see all four seasons! To wear raincoat is mostly
too warm, specially thow the landscape is hilly and the cities are built
by cobblestone. Therefore an umbrella is to prefer if you dont want
to get wet.
Season
The season follows Portugals turist season. High season is June- September,
middle season is April, May and October. Low season is November to Mars.
Tips; Every season has its charm and the island is always
beautiful! In wintertime you cant see all of the nice flowers thow.
The boats around the islands dosn´t go after October because of
the autumn storms. You can fly during the whole year, but its more expensive
ofcourse!
Swim
The temperature of the see is affected by the Gulf Stream and is around
16° och 22° around the year. You can swim in natural constructed
pools by the see in Biscoitos, São Mateus, Ponta da Queimada
and in Porto Martins. Terceira have two sand beaches, one in Praia da
Vitoria and one in Angra.
Time
-2 hours from Sweden and -1 hour from Lissabon.
